CHRISTMAS FITNESS ADVENT - DAY 12

CHRISTMAS FITNESS ADVENT - DAY 12

e average British person will consume a massive 7000! Calories on Christmas Day! Over 3 times the recommended calorie intake of an average adult, it would take almost 3 marathons to burn that amount of calories, and the only marathon most of us are likely to do over the Christmas period is a TV Marathon! But before you panic, here are some useful tips to help prepare your body for the Christmas food marathon and put that extra food to good use! 1) reduce your overall carb intake for the 5 days leading up to Christmas Day. Aim for no more than 20% of your calorie intake to come from carbs 2) use an app, such as my fitness pal, to track your diet and macros to make this easier to monitor 3) increase the amount of walking you do per day ( just small changes like walking instead of driving will achieve this) to increase the amount of calories you burn leading up to the big day! 4) on Christmas Day, make a green smoothie packed full of vegetables, and kale, and drink this before eating your Christmas diner. The volume will help to fill you up and reduce the amount you eat when you finally sit down. And do when you eat your Christmas dinner, treat it like a cheat meal/re fuel day and enoy! After all! It is only once a year
